A visionary or a madman? Head BlackBerry predicts the future - Gazeta.pl

Can not we all remember the infamous BlackBerry tablet branded badge. PlayBook was one of the first significant defeats of the Canadian giant sign that he does not keep pace with market developments.

Enter the new tablet market failed, also failed to maintain a position in the smartphone sales rankings. According to Kantar Worldpanel in the U.S. smartphones je?ynk? the housing mastered … 0.7% of the market.

One might argue that the BlackBerry in recent years did not take the right decisions.

Meanwhile

BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins during a conference in Los Angeles, said that the company is not going to even try a second time to enter the tablet market. Why? Here’s the answer:

“Within five years there will be no reason to have a tablet [...] Perhaps the big screen in the professional sphere but not as a tablet. Tablets, as such, are not a good business model”

If this vision seems unlikely to you that Mr. Heins made another:

“I believe that within five years the BlackBerry is the absolute leader in portable computers.”

Because smartphone is basically a portable computer. From this we can agree. And as for the rest of the President Heins must also be a slight surprise. As Canadians plan to deprive hegemony Google, Apple and Microsoft, even if the latter despite the billions pumped into promoting Windows Phone / Windows RT / Windows 8 is still on trial?

We look forward to feedback.
